Medicare Part D is most commonly referred to as the Medicare prescription drug benefit plan. This United States federal government program is meant to help Medicare beneficiaries pay for self-administered prescription drugs through prescription drug insurance premiums.

 

There are several different Medicare Part D plans and some are more beneficial than others based on your needs. It is important to carefully look over your Medicare Part D plan options to find what will work best for you. For 2019 coverage, open enrollment will be from October 15 through December 7, 2018. During the open enrollment period, you can change various aspects of or switch plans for your 2019 Medicare Part D coverage.
